How does Cent compare to other platforms?
Over the course of the last 5 months, I’ve been comparing my product experience on Cent to Quora and various other earning platforms. Please read through to the bottom for my bounty for you to compare Cent on your own. I’d like to hear how you think Cent stacks up to other sites.
First off, since I was asking high trafficked questions on Quora I was invited to be a part of their Beta Partner Program where you get paid for asking questions. At this point, my questions garnered 86,600 views and they paid me $26 total on Quora. Comparatively at this point, Cent’s average engagement is 12x more replies, ~4x more money earned, and a community that cares to reply thoroughly and thoughtfully (except for @kamran).
Now the comparison isn’t entirely apples-to-apples since I tried to ask some of the same questions without gifs/jpegs, which I show below, but I asked many more on Quora and still received 1/4 less in overall money. Keep in mind that regardless of how the question was displayed on either platform, I had many more with 0 answers in Quora than with Cent; and the most answered on Quora were 13 replies whereas on Cent, 38 replies.
Here are a few juxtapositions, top Cent and bottom Quora:
Below is bountied at about $1 and I earned about .10 cents but the point on this one is I received some money and 9 replies. In Quora, I received no money and I had directly asked 11 people to answer, and only 1 replied.
Below has 199 views, 25 total requests to answer and 0 answers on Quora, but 23 replies and only .09 spent on Cent.
Made .50 and 5 replies on Cent below; on the other hand, 3 ads were shown and 55 views on Quora and no money received with no answers.
Here are a few other quick ways below that I’ve been using for longer than Cent, or about the same time, and have made much less money. Cent also combines multiple mechanisms, and it’s exciting to see who’s posting, seeding, and bountying — truly the best “income-generating social network, enabling anyone to earn money by sharing their wisdom and creativity.” However, these below are more monotonous and perfunctory in my opinion. Keeping in mind that most below are helping the publisher and system gain insights at the hand of the user, but in Cent the user is at the center of all the interactions, building a greater and more cohesive community.
Earn.com: $14.52 at this moment (.0036 BTC)
Google Opinion Rewards: $11.31 after 32 surveys.
Amazon Mechanical Turk: $3.75 after 17 bounty (HIT) completions.
Surveymonkey Rewards: $3.10 but 1.90 more before I can cash out to a gift card.
Lolli: $2.55 for spending and earning (.000731) BTC back.
Please know that I will still be using the systems above because they do provide value, and in their own right are beneficial. Full disclosure: I am currently the Product Manager at Cent. I do urge you to make your own comparisons, and the bounty is to try other systems and see what’s right for you. Mimic my testing above or be creative and see how they do. Lolli and Earn are both different types of crypto-based platforms and I very much recommend them (their title link is my referral). Here are some others to consider comparing that I haven’t used fully: Peepeth, Steemit, The Bounties Network, Ethlance, Numa, Canya, Indorse, and many more you can find on Web3 browsers.
A postscript on earning via advertisers and affiliate links: I’m a humblebundle partner and tested the amazing donation based time-sensitive products on Instagram and Cent, and realized it’s very hard to grab interest even if you pay for ads. Nevertheless, after spending $25 and about 3,000 impressions later on Instagram, I only received a handful of clicks, whereas on Cent it was about double the click amount — I’d like to see more specifics here for those who have had success with Instagram — neither earned me money by using the affiliate link, like above. Note: I’ve been on Instagram for about 4 years and have various accounts, never made any money from using the platform, which I know many do make lots so take my input as a small slice of that social media.
Thanks for reading and keep ¢enting on.
