The Romanian branch of Center For American Studies is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Bucharest. We are concerned with education in the following aspects: the value of personal freedom, free enterprise, property rights, limited government and sound money.

We are a think-tank that conducts projects and research in order to anticipate the future and adapt accordingly, as individuals and as a nation.

Our values are:

Freedom, the Rule of Law, and Government Transparency;

Social Openness and Commitment Towards the Community;

Cultural Awareness and Intellectual Independence;

We, at the Center For American Studies Romania, believe in an open, free and prosperous society. It’s our opinion that the best model to achieve that as a nation is the American Way. The Great George Washington and the Founding Fathers designed a frame of government upon universal principles in order to obtain a republic. A sample of their wisdom lays in the following paragraph:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.” The Declaration of Independence — The Want, Will, and Hopes of the People

Under our umbrella, the studies will focus on: history, economy, politics, society and culture, but will also include (to name but a few subjects): film studies, literature, media and social media, pop culture, sports, music and so on.
