7.10: Realizing a Polio-Free World: Sustaining U.S. Support for Global Polio Eradication

National governments around the world as wella as the Global Polio Eradication Initiative are edging toward global polio eradication, focusing the bulk of attention and resources toward the few remaining areas where the wild virus continues to circulate. While ensuring eradication remains the top priority, the global health community is also preparing to sustain valuable immunization and disease response tools developed during the initiative. CSIS hosted a conference featuring Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other distinguished guests to highlight the role the U.S. is playing in global polio eradication and how that role will evolve as eradication is achieved.

7.11: What is the Future for America’s Alliances?

Following the G7, North Korea, and NATO summits, the future of U.S. alliances have become a prominent issue of public debate. How will U.S. actions at these summits, and in international diplomacy more generally, affect allies views of the U.S. as a reliable security and trade partner? CSIS hosted a conversation to try to answer this question, with a specific focus on the European and Asian allies of the United States.
