6.26: A Conversation with Pratima Rangarajan
Dr. Pratima Rangarajan was appointed as the first CEO of OGCI (Oil and Gas Climate Initiative) Climate Investments in May 2017. The fund was founded to develop and demonstrate innovative technologies which could significantly curb global greenhouse gas emissions. The firm plans to invest $1 billion over the next ten years. CSIS hosted Dr. Rangarajan for the latest in the Climate Change and the National and Corporate Interest speaker series. The discussion focused on OGCI Climate Investments within the context of the OGCI, why the fund was founded last year, and how and why Climate Investments differentiates itself from other funds.
6.26: CSIS-Pertamina Banyan Tree Leadership Forum with Minister Ignasius Jonan
Ignasius Jonan has served as Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia since October 2016. He previously served as Minister for Transportation from October 2014 to July 2016. CSIS hosted Minister Ignasius Jonan for a CSIS-Pertamina Banyan Tree Leadership Forum.
6.26: “The Statesman,” Posthumous Memoirs of Ambassador David Abshire
The late Ambassador David Abshire lived a quintessentially American life, one that spanned the Great Depression, World War II, and the Cold War and its aftermath. He graduated from West Point, fought in the Korean War, earned a doctorate from Georgetown University, and served in government during the Vietnam War and at the height of the Cold War. He also co-founded the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and led with distinction the Center for the Study of the Presidency & Congress. CSIS hosted a book launch to discuss the Ambassador’s life, legacy and the lessons that can be drawn from his memoirs
