We’ve got an amazing lineup coming together for the 2019 Collaborative Journalism Summit, and we hope you can join us!
This year’s Collaborative Journalism Summit will take place in Philadelphia, one of the hottest cities in the U.S. for local news ecosystem collaboration.

New at this year’s conference is a pre-Summit convening we’re helping to coordinate in partnership with Solutions Journalism Network at Resolve Philadelphia. This event starts at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 16 and includes a deep-dive look at Resolve and how it works, plus lots of peer discussion about collaboratives.

And if you are interested but concerned about being able to afford the trip to Philly, please apply for a Peer Learning + Collaboration Fund grant. We’ll be awarding money through that Fund to help get folks to the Resolve event (and, bonus, you can stay for the Summit!)
Then the Summit will officially kick off the evening of May 16 at the offices of The Philadelphia Inquirer for networking, appetizers and a conversation that will dive deep into what’s happening in Philly and how you can replicate it. Participants from Resolve Philadelphia, the Lenfest Institute, WHYY, the Inquirer and more will be on hand.
The Summit will continue early on Friday at the studios of WHYY, where we’ll discuss the current state of collaborative journalism, hear keynotes from the BBC and City Bureau, dive into impact-tracking for collaborations, discuss how to build media cooperatives, and take a tour of more than a dozen unique collaborative efforts across the United States.
Students from Montclair State University, Temple University and Rowan University will be on hand to help run the Summit, so if you’re looking for early-career journalists or future interns to hire, we’ve got you covered.
Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, including the Knight Foundation, Lenfest Institute, Democracy Fund, WHYY and Montclair State University, we’re able to keep ticket prices low. Each $50 ticket includes food and drinks on Thursday night, and breakfast, lunch and snacks on Friday.
