Rufus Wins the Tug-of-War

A short story about mending

“No, Rufus, no!” Mary shouted.

Mary tumbled backward, clutching three quarters of Bowwow. Animal stuffing exploded in her bedroom like a million dandelion seeds. Rufus circumnavigated Mary’s bed four times, enjoying the spoils of winning tug-of-war, then dropped the stuffed panda’s arm on the floor, barked twice, and padded into the hallway.
