Startled awake again at exactly 2:17am. Every Friday night, I shoot out of bed, thinking a bullet has been fired through my gut.

100 years earlier, the coroner glanced at the bullet holes in the floor. The doctor tried to keep the patient alive. “Carter Robbins. Time of death: 2:17am.”
