The Gift Reflects the Giver

The best present I ever received was one I couldn’t use

I once was a girl who loved Elton John. I sobbed to Your Song, prayed to Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me, danced to Crocodile Rock. My first concert was Elton John’s 1980 World Tour.

I cried after the Rocket Man movie and told my husband, Andrew, “I’ll never see Elton in concert again.”

In December 2019 Andrew heard Elton had agreed to tour again. He immediately bought tickets — my birthday present. The concert date would have been June, 2020. Then Covid happened.

I hope Elton and I will make it to 2022, when he returns to Dallas.
