The Shadows

Run.

Run before the shadows catch you. You don’t want them to slither onto your feet and trap you in their grasp. Don’t let the chill air emanating from the deep grey smoke reach your ankles and pull you in.

Stop looking down at the forest floor. The logs and vines will trip you up, and the shadows will catch you. You see the sun above you? Catch it in your eyes and let the beams of light protect you.

Don’t turn around. Don’t let the growling of the hidden wolves scare you away. The shadows won’t reach you in this clearing. The sun will keep them at bay.

Don’t run.

But you’re running. You shouldn’t be running. The clouds shroud the light, and the shadows are coming.

They are coming…

They are here.

And now…you are gone.
