Give us the most creative excuse you can for why you forgot to do your homework in exactly 100 words

Remember high school? Maybe you don’t or perhaps you don’t want to, but we’re resurrecting one particular aspect of high school life for this week’s centina prompt:

Write a 100-word story explaining why you didn’t do your homework.

There’s the old “the dog ate my homework,” the tired “it must have fallen out of my backpack on the bus,” the incredulous, “my dad spilled coffee on my homework this morning” and the more contemporary “I had a computer virus.” But what we’re looking for this week is an unparalleled entertaining excuse. No excuse is too outlandish, preposterous, or wild.

We invite you to be visited by aliens, encounter space time anomalies, have the CIA confiscate your homework because it contains classified information, sell your homework at an auction, or anything else.

Here’s your chance to offer your math, history, science, English, foreign language, or other teacher the excuse you wish you could have back in 10th grade.

Be sure to include Centina as one of your tags.

Now get to work! Your teachers are waiting.
