CENNZnet at SXSW Tech Festival
If you listen really hard, close your eyes and put your ear right close to the metaverse, you can still hear the distant beats of the FLUF dome, heralding the coming of Web3. Or maybe we are all still too hyped from last month’s SXSW tech festival!
March 12–15 the city of Austin Texas greeted a wave of web3 builders, users and blockchain fans for the epic XR Summit Sessions. This year was hosted by our very own FLUF World, undisputed heavyweights of the NFT and metaverse movement, and naturally, CENNZnet was there to support with the layer 2 conversations that are forming a critical part of every metaverse project.
SXSW presented by FLUF World
FLUF world took the reins for this week-long showcase, introducing the full metaverse team: FLUFs, Party Bears, Seekers, Altered State Machine, Beyond VR, Sylo and the L2 solution behind it all: CENNZnet.
The Fluf Village was centred around the dramatic FLUF Dome which featured breathtaking metaverse art, both digital and physical. The whole village was chock full of events, from workshops and presentations to showcase spectacular creations and the ideas driving them, to interactive music sessions that had everyone jumping.
CENNZnet making the party possible
The CENNZnet team were hard at work all week presenting and chatting to potential metaverse developers. NFTs and the metaverse were stand out themes for SXSW as a whole, and the energy and atmosphere of the FLUF village was the perfect melting pot for key conversations between flourishing web3 projects and users.
“We had the full spectrum. From diehard Fluf owners to metaverse projects, to people who just wanted to understand what the buzz was about,” says CENNZnet CEO, Nicole Upchurch.
“Being involved in such an epic display of Web3 tech and innovation from a group of Kiwi projects in the FLUF Village was the true highlight of the event. New Zealand is strong in this space and we were able to showcase the range of our talent through tech, VR, graphics and storytelling at SXSW. I was delighted with the energy towards the metaverse, and quietly surprised at the appetite of the attendees for nerdy blockchain chat.”
Our multitalented CTO, Jordy took centre stage on the CENNZnet timeline. Jordy’s presentation, aptly named ‘Making sense of L2’ was the perfect platform to delve into some of the complex ideas that CENNZnet is bringing to the metaverse table. It was standing room only in the dome as Jordy laid out the faults with the pure L1 model and how powerful L2’s like CENNZnet are the future.
