Pushing into new frontiers of the Metaverse and Web 3.0 requires an ambitious tech roadmap and that’s exactly what we’ve got!

Following on from our staggering 2021 the team is already hard at work continuing the charge. So what’s happening on CENNZnet in 2022? Here are the projects and improvements you can expect on the network this year.

New projects and features

This year we have an impressive selection of brand new features coming to the network. Get ready for exciting new functionality and some excellent user experience improvements.

The CENNZnet App Hub

Our key focus as a blockchain has always been accessibility and in this spirit, we are drastically streamlining our CENNZnet user tools. Work is already underway to bring all of the user functionality of CENNZnet into one place — the CENNZnet App Hub.

The App Hub will be a single site where you can access the functionality of:

  • The Emery Bridge
  • Liquidity Trading Venue
  • Token Swapping Venue

Our aim is to provide a centralised hub for end-users to recognise, learn and interact with CENNZnet functionalities. It will also serve as the foundation for further expansion for future functionalities such as the Governance module (discussed a bit further down).

Wrapped CPAY and CENNZ

CENNZnet has had a few generations of tokens. In our early stages of development, we used an Ethereum supported ERC20 CENNZ token as our primary currency. However, since our token swap in October 2020, we have transitioned our token economy to native CENNZ and CPAY which sit in our dual-token system on the CENNZnet blockchain.

The remaining ERC20 tokens now have no value on the CENNZnet blockchain. This is understandably quite confusing for new members of our community as old ERC20 CENNZ still exists on Ethereum DEX.

To solve this issue we will be wrapping CENNZ and CPAY tokens to create an EVM compatible version that can be viewed on decentralised exchanges. Wrapped CENNZ is an ERC-20 version (Ethereum version) that is controlled by a contract running on CENNZnet rather than native CENNZ which is built straight into the source code. This means that users will be able to buy native CENNZ on Ethereum DEXs.

The EVM Smart Contract Module

Smart contracts are coming to CENNZnet! The EVM smart contract module uses a mechanism called Ethereum Virtual Machine to read smart contracts written in Solidity. This will make it super easy for devs to transfer their DApps and contracts to CENNZnet and also utilise the Ethereum ecosystems extensive tooling libraries.

This is going to be a fantastic new tool for devs and also means that our network can now tap into the huge pool of Ethereum users and grow CENNZnet ecosystem like never before!

Decentralised Governance

At CENNZnet we have always been driven by the desire to achieve true community ownership and with it, full decentralisation. Now that the stage is set we are ready to begin delivering our protocol level, on-chain decentralised governance model.

The first step is electing our council who will be responsible for proposing changes to the network and voting on which proposals are successfully enacted. join the CENNZnet governance Discord channel here to stay up to date on all governance news.

DAO support

Decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) is an organisation defined by a set of rules transparently encoded as a computer programme. It’s extremely useful for creating a decentralised project where everyone has a fair say over what happens and can transparently see why decisions have occurred.

Currently, CENNZnet has one functioning DAO which operates as our overall governance system. With our new DAO support functionality, users will be able to create their very own DAOs.

Native Ethereum Oracle

This exciting new feature allows CENNZnet smart contracts to read contracts from the Ethereum mainnet using the Emery Bridge.

NFT offer and trade system

The NFT offer and trade system will provide a way for users to exchange NFTs for NFTs. Users will be able to offer up any combination of NFTs and tokens for someone else’s NFTs. If both parties agree to the NFT swap, the tokens will all be transferred.

We are pretty excited about this first of a kind feature as it removes alot of risk for our users. Currently if you have an NFT and you want another NFT, you have to first sell your NFT then buy the other NFT. More transactions always opens up the possibility of more risk and direct trading has lots of obvious benefits.

Certi bridge

We have a small number of loyal community members who purchased a CERTI token in 2018. This year we will be creating a bridge so these holders will be able to use their token on CENNZnet.

Upgrades and improvements

CENNZnet’s now extensive set of tools, runtime modules and features will also be receiving some love this year. We have plenty of upgrades and improvements to keep our features slick and powerful.

Litho upgrades

The Launch of CENNZnet’s very own NFT aggregator and marketplace Litho, was well received by our community last year. To improve the experience even further our team will be working on some enhancements. Expect:

  • UI refinement
  • Streamlined buy & listing experience
  • New currency support: (ETH/USDC/DAI)

UX & UI improvements

A selection of our key user tools will also be getting a makeover this year. UX & UI improvements will be coming to our:

Emery Bridge updates

The Emery bridge is working away providing easy transfer of token assets from CENNZnet to Ethereum and vise versa. To enhance the experience even further and provide more options for users and DAPP devs we will be including a further few features:

  • Bridge Threshold Sig Prototype: Helps to maintain extremely cheap bridging costs for upkeep and withdrawals
  • Gas reduction: Work to ensure more than 30% cheaper bridging costs for upkeep and withdrawals
  • Reissue proofs: Allows users to rerequest withdraw tokens even after proofs expire

It’s a lot to remember we know! Check out our sweet roadmap graphic here and keep up to date with what’s done and what’s to come.

Community makes the dream work

As always we are ever grateful to our tireless CENNZ community. Your support is what drives this project, and it’s what will ultimately make it a success. We are so excited for what the coming year will bring and we hope you will join us in promoting CENNZnet and watching the network go from strength to strength!
