It’s been a busy month for the Centrality ventures. Here is the latest news from CENNZnet, Centrapay, Sylo, Trackback, CentraPass and CarbonClick.

CENNZnet

The CENNZnet token swap contract has officially closed. Thanks to our dedicated community it has been a huge success with more than 831 million $CENNZ sent to the transition contract!

Our team are now busy minting the new CENNZnet native tokens as well as organising the transition for exchanges. This process is going really well and we are very focussed on ensuring that our exchanges have a smooth and seamless transition experience. Once the exchanges have added the new trading pair we will be able to announce an official return date for our token holders.

As promised, public staking is still on track to be delivered before Christmas this year. We are currently preparing some in-depth guides to explain the CENNZnet specific staking process and how you can get involved.

In other CENNZnet news, we have now pre-released API version 1.3.0-alpha.2 which works with our latest CENNZnet version network. As well as providing improved security, our new API will be easier for community developers to integrate their apps with as it requires fewer configurations.

We have also been preparing our new version of CENNZnet UI based on the new API which will be deployed on cennznet.io once ready.

Centrapay

Big news for Centrapay this month. The team has partnered with Verifone to deliver a new contactless payment platform that removes the per-transaction fee businesses in New Zealand typically pay.

Consumers and merchants will be able to process contactless NZD payments, Giftstation Gift cards, accept digital assets, redeem Grab One vouchers, provide product and service feedback, offset carbon, utilise loyalty programmes, send or participate in surveys, and use digital identity solutions — all in real-time! And it all happens with an app and a QR code on any enabled Verifone payment device.

Sylo

Coming very soon from Sylo is the most exciting release of their product so far — the Oya Launch. A total realignment of the Sylo Network infrastructure that supports apps like the Sylo Smart Wallet, Oya makes real a very important part of what makes the vision for the Sylo Network tick > Sylo Nodes.

After Oya Launch, users will have the ability to create their own Sylo Nodes and provide their own comms infrastructure to the community. The result of this is a fast, smooth, fully decentralised user experience in the Sylo Smart Wallet that will give centralised messengers a serious run for their money, and a network which can scale to support millions of users, transactions, apps, and businesses. Stay tuned for the imminent release of this very exciting set of developments!

Trackback

The Trackback team have successfully formed a blockchain consortium based on the PLUG framework for NZ’s Primary Industries. The consortium, Trust Alliance NZ (TANZ), has 23 members including: Federated Farmers, Silver Fern Farms, GS1, Sanford NZ, Ports of Auckland, Potatoes NZ, ANZ, Foodstuffs North Island, ANZ, Eagle Technology to name a few. TrackBack is the driver and facilitator for TANZ and the key network provider.

The TANZ digital platform will enable New Zealand producers, growers, exporters, retailers and consumers to easily share trusted data which will:

  • Preserve & enhance the global and domestic competitiveness of NZ’s primary industries,
  • Ensure consumers understand and are assured of the provenance of their food,
  • Solve current data interoperability issues to reduce cost & friction in the market and ensure greater value to all participants.

You can learn a bit more about Trackback’s work with New Zealand’s farmers here.

TANZ will be launched officially at the Primary Industries Summit at Te Papa, Wellington on 23–24th November.

CentraPass

Exciting things are happening for Digital Identity in New Zealand (Aotearoa)! This month the CentraPass team brought together a diverse group of representatives for the Trust Aotearoa Hui hosted by Datacom on the 4th of November. This event followed the online launch of the Trust Aotearoa Identity Consortium in support of DIA’s Interim Trust Framework pilot programme.

The highly energetic meeting included reps from the Auckland Council, Air NZ, AUT, Datacom, Zeald, Genesis, Digital Identity NZ, Internet NZ, Minter Ellison and ASB along with Centrality aimed to reach a working consensus on the core values and strategy of the movement. Their vision: the self-determination for the people of Aotearoa over the taonga that is their sacred identity. We look forward to seeing this movement evolve as they broaden engagement, formalise their organisation and kick off workstreams in the New Year.

CarbonClick

The CarbonClick team are busy preparing for the launch of their “Climate Friendly Teams” product. This exciting new option helps businesses to understand their impact and offset their carbon footprint. Centrality and the wider team has been an integral part of beta testing of the MVP and provided the feedback needed to bring it to life.

It’s also been a great month for publicity with CarbonClick CEO David Rouse featured on both TVNZ Breakfast TV and in this months NZ Business magazine.
