Peter McCallum, Head of Data Science for business intelligence provider, Smart Associates, is leading the joint venture with Auckland blockchain specialists, Centrality to deliver a new data management and analytics service, via blockchain technology.

“We’re addressing the growing demand for data analytics, built on blockchain infrastructure. Our venture will enable organisations to make better decisions and drive improved performance through the intelligent use of data” says McCallum.

“Combining our expert knowledge and Centrality’s world-class blockchain technology means that we can deliver the highest quality service to developers of decentralised applications, as well as new experiences for consumers.

“Our goal is to design products with rich analytical functionality and an emphasis on scale, performance and reliability.”

The roadmap for the new venture includes:

  1. Blockchain data analytics and visualisation tools that provide richer insight into the type and value of transactions that have occurred; including when, where, and in what volume.
  2. New APIs for developers of decentralised applications (dApps)
  3. Assisting blockchain startups and investors by providing better governance and support for their token generating events (TGE). This will include the delivery of Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance services, social media analytics, and pre and post sale price and transaction analysis.
  4. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies to create ‘human driven’ experiences across the Centrality ecosystem.

“The Smart Associates joint venture complements our existing blockchain ecosystem, and we’re excited by the potential to bring new data products and APIs to our developers. This means they will be able to build awesome new decentralised experiences for consumers” says Aaron McDonald, CEO of Centrality.
