There are four ways to join our ecosystem, based on your needs and what you’re setting out to achieve.

To stay up-to-date on the progress of our technology, follow us on Twitter, Telegram, Slack, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.

  1. Build a mini-app in Sylo

Most DApp projects joining Centrality’s ecosystem will build an app within Sylo, Centrality’s decentralised communication app and interface for users. Think of Sylo as a super app, like WeChat, and your solution being “an app within an app.” Sylo has a current user base of more than 30,000 and the functionality to support thousands of “mini-apps.” When a user downloads Sylo they’ll be able to instantly connect to your app, among many others, all on one platform.

Who is this right for?

If you want to build a solution without the cost and time associated with traditional iOS and Android apps, creating a mini-app might be for you.

Benefits

  • Tap into an existing userbase
  • Low cost of development and maintenance
  • Fast to market

What should I know before I get started?

More information is coming — keep an eye on Sylo and Centrality channels.

2. Create your own DApp on CENNZnet

If you want to create a standalone application, you may like to build it on CENNZnet, our public blockchain for consumer-facing DApps. This involves deploying your own smart contract, but all the tools required to build the app will be provided in our Developer Portal. If the DApp is highly valued in the network, there is a possibility of the community upvoting it to a protocol with privileges, like SingleSource and Sylo.

Who is this right for?

You want to build an application with more functionality than a mini-app and make your solution available for other developers and business to build on top of.

Benefits

  • Access built-in protocols like identity, communications, an exchange to make the user experience easier
  • Tap into an existing userbase

3. Consortium

One of the key benefits of developing on the Centrality ecosystem is the opportunity to collaborate with other businesses in a trusted way. If you’re looking to work closely with other businesses in your industry, we suggest joining a consortium. This is an enterprise solution that offers blockchain-as-a-service. We provide out-of-the-box solutions for your group to set up and maintain a permissioned blockchain with ease. This frees up time and resources to focus instead on building a customised solution. An example is TrackBack which worked with supply chain partners to build a traceability platform within Centrality’s ecosystem.

Who is this right for?

You’re looking to work together with other enterprises in your industry to harness the benefits of blockchain, without the hassle setting one up from scratch. A consortium is suitable for industry groups such as banking, insurance and supply chain.

Benefits

  • User-friendly managed service (blockchain-as-a-service)
  • Dramatic reduction in R&D and set up costs
  • No need to worry about upgrades or maintenance of the blockchain
  • More capacity to focus on building your solution
  • Pool resources with partners
  • Work with partners towards a common goal in a totally trusted, transparent way

4. Build your own blockchain

While CENNZnet will underpin most businesses in Centrality’s ecosystem, we recognise that some projects require the flexibility of a fully customised blockchain. PL^G is the next generation framework that enables you to build your own blockchain with ease.

Who is this right for?

You want to create a fully customised blockchain (whether private or public), without the hassle of building it from scratch. Your project may have highly specific requirements that are beyond the scope of CENNZnet. For example, there may be differences in speed, run time module or consensus model.

Benefits

  • Totally customised blockchain to meet your needs
  • You don’t have to build your blockchain from scratch
  • Control of codebase and ability to update when and how you want

What should I know before I get started?
