Our friends at Mainstage are about to shake up the events and ticketing industry

Ticketing fraud has long been a thorn in the side of the entertainment industry, with the issue worsening thanks to ticketing bots. The issue is rampant around the world, with scammers issuing fake tickets and scalpers on-selling tickets to consumers with huge margins.

Mainstage is looking to change the way events and ticketing work. They’re utilising a blockchain ledger to create programmable tickets that people can trust to be free of scams.

We’re thrilled to have offered Mainstage the opportunity to grow their business, as part of our incubator programme, the Centrality Innovation Hub. The aim is to attract likeminded innovators and leverage Centrality’s global resources to collectively bring decentralisation to the world. It’s an opportunity for teams to work closely with Centrality and receive support to move applications into production and mass market adoption.

Aleks Beer, Co-Founder of Mainstage, says the opportunity has enabled them to tap into valuable capital to kickstart their business. “Centrality have provided us with a place to get started, connections and resources we didn’t have access to before.”

The current intake is currently in session and a number of applications are in development. Centrality’s ambition is to create a network of innovation hubs around the world and enable its marketplace of apps to thrive — applications will be open again soon.

If you have an innovative idea for projects or platforms that use, or could benefit from, a blockchain-based tech stack, be sure to keep an eye out for updates. Later this year Centrality will be looking for more teams to apply for its incubator programme, including both impactful consumer-facing applications as well as infrastructure-level platforms.

Make sure you’re following Centrality to keep up with the latest news on Medium, Twitter, Facebook, Telegram and LinkedIn, .
