DoDreamChain Project’s Contents
1. Blockchain-based International Student Matching
DoDreamChain is a blockchain network centered on international students. We will improve the experience of international students from the preparation stage for studying abroad to the moment they settle in Korea, and provide matching services among stakeholders including international students, universities, agencies, and companies through sharing transparent and verified information. The dropout rate of international students recruited on the basis of trust will be low and the satisfaction of studying in Korea will be increased. As a result, the brand image of related agencies can be improved and management efficiency can be improved.
2. Eliminate asymmetry of study abroad information
It provides a new environment for anyone to collect and share information about studying in Korea through sharing information on an open platform rather than an offline broker. By gathering fragmented information, international students can quickly and easily verify damage from invalidated brokers and lower the cost of fees. You can find a variety of information related to studying abroad such as culture, housing, and employment.
3. Prevention of forgery and alteration of certificate
A long-term trust relationship can be established by managing the history of recruiting brokers and foreign students in blockchain, replacing the delivery of paper documents and proving the integrity of the uploaded originals. Through this, it is possible to reduce problems such as illegal residence and dropout of international students caused by forged documents, and to systematically manage the international student’s personal history such as graduation certificate, report card, certificate of enrollment, alien registration card, certificate, license, etc.
4. Reward system applied to information sharing
In DoDreamChain, you can earn DRM Tokens by contributing to and rewarding ecosystem growth. Rewards are encouraged for activities that help others gain information, such as sharing experiences, registering information, verifying history, and answering questions. The participant can cash out the DRM Token using other services or goods offered through DoDreamChain or selling to the buyer. International students can exchange value using DRM Tokens under the agreement of both parties, such as used goods trading and sharing of academic materials. Students of various nationalities will be able to conduct private transactions without remittance or exchange fees. It also secures a transparent reputation for participants by leaving a token payout history.
5. Growth of the project industry
The number of international students, the core users of DoDreamChain, is growing more than 10% annually, and that trend is expected to continue for the time being. The shrinking school-age population and the Korean wave abroad are concentrating the university and the Ministry of Education on strengthening global capabilities. The Ministry of Education announced a plan to recruit 200,000 international students from 2015 to 2023, and the number of international students is growing faster than the Ministry’s plan.
In addition, the ‘Education Internationalization Capability Certification System’ was introduced to provide the benefits of simplifying the international student visa issuance process for accredited universities, and include the results of attracting international students as internationalization indexes in the evaluation index of university financial support projects.
Various policies are in place to expand the number of international students, including support for transfers and opening of courses for foreign students. Emphasis is placed on securing ‘excellent talent’ rather than indiscriminately attracting them, which is considered to be similar to DoDreamChain’s purpose to attract and systematically manage international students with confidence.
