During May 2017, the Glorious India Expo (http://gloriousindiaexpo.com/) took place at the New Jersey Convention & Exposition Center, Edison, USA. Various India and USA based organizations including Innovative Council of Indian Tourism, Make in India, Incredible India, and US-India Business Council were sponsoring entities. Various USA based organization formed by Indian origin diaspora were the supporting entities. The expo is coordinated by Praveg Communications (http://praveg.com/). One of the objectives of the Expo is to motivate the USA-based Indians and India-origin people to connect to their roots by bringing together the trade and cultural elements of India.

The Glorious India Expo constituted The Glorious India Award — Rich and Famous NRIs of America to recognize the exemplary contributions of all US-based NRIs who have made India proud and inspired people around the Globe (including India) to further enhance their skills and chase their dreams. The award is for the Indian Americans who have made outstanding contributions in education, media, literature, medicine, law, and politics. The awardee for this highly selective award is a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) who have accomplished exceptional feats in their respective areas while inspiring others to achieve their dreams relentlessly around the globe.

For the year 2017, the Glorious India Awards announced 42 honorees from different categories. The award was distributed in the presence of the dignitaries from India and eminent personalities from the USA, with a gathering of tens of thousands of visitors at the expo. It is a distinct pleasure to announce that the awardee includes Government college of engineering and technology at Bhubaneswar (CETB) alumnus Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, Prof./Dr. Saraju P. Mohanty.

Prof./Dr. Mohanty is an alumnus of Government Engineering College of the state of Odisha, the College of Engineering and Technology at Bhubaneswar (CETB). He obtained a Bachelors degree with Honors in Electrical Engineering from CETB. He has a Master in Engineering (System Science and Automation) from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. He obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of South Florida, USA. Prof./Dr. Saraju P. Mohanty is a Professor Award-winning author, and Editor. Saraju P. Mohanty is a Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), University of North Texas (UNT). Prof. Mohanty’s research is in “Energy-Efficient High-Performance Secure Electronic Systems”. Dr. Mohanty is an inventor of 4 US patents. Prof. Mohanty is an author of 220 peer-reviewed research articles, and 3 books. He received Society for Technical Communication (STC) 2017 Award of Merit for his outstanding leadership contributions to IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine. He was the recipient of 2016 PROSE Award for best Textbook in Physical Sciences & Mathematics from the Association of American Publishers for his book titled “Nanoelectronic Mixed-Signal System Design” published by McGraw-Hill in 2015. He was conferred 2016–17 UNT Toulouse Scholars Award for sustained excellent scholarship and teaching achievements.

Prof. Mohanty has been serving on the editorial board of several peer-reviewed international journals or transactions. He serves on the editorial board of multiple peer-reviewed international journals, including IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems (TCAD) and ACM Journal on Emerging Technologies in Computing Systems (JETC). He serves as the Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of the IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine. Prof. Mohanty currently serves as the Chair of Technical Committee on Very Large Scale Integration (TCVLSI), IEEE Computer Society (IEEE-CS) after elected by a global ballot to oversee a dozen of IEEE conferences. He serves on the steering, organizing, and program committees of several international conferences. He is the founding steering committee chair for the IEEE International Symposium on Nanoelectronic and Information Systems (iNIS) and steering committee vice-chair of the IEEE-CS Symposium on VLSI (ISVLSI). Prof. Mohanty is the Conference Chair of ICCE 2018, the flagship Conference of IEEE CE Society, which is co-located with International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) as its research/education component. Prof. Mohanty has received Honors Day recognition as an inspirational faculty at the UNT for multiple years. He has also received UNT Provost’s Thank a Teacher recognition for multiple years.
