Our Flashiest Investment to date in Next Gen Storage

We are pleased to participate in the US$75 million Series F financing round of Kaminario. This round was led by Hong Kong based investment fund, Waterwood Capital, alongside previous investors including Sequoia, Pitango, Mitsui and Lazarus.

This marks our 8th investment since we launched our fund in October 2015.

Founded in 2008 and with offices in the US, Israel, France, UK and Korea, Kaminario is a global leader in all-flash enterprise storage and was recently recognised as a Visionary in the 2016 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Solid-State Arrays.

This is a market which is undergoing explosive growth. According to 451 Research, the All-Flash Array market size has doubled in the past 12 months and will reach $4.6 billion in 2016, growing to $9.6 billion by 2020, a CAGR of 24%. This is driven primarily by the rising adoption of flash-based storage due to its high scalability, decreasing cost, increasing use cases and wider availability.

2016 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Solid State Array

Kaminario’s K2 line of solid state SAN storage solutions enables customers to both scale out and up, and offers an enhanced mixed workload performance with greater cost efficiency. Over the last 12 months alone, Kaminario’s roster of new customers has doubled and number of channel partners, tripled, due to the soaring demand for all-flash solutions to support on-demand applications.

With that, we are pleased to support the whole Kaminario team as they focus on delivering the highest quality next generation data storage solutions.
