Zombunnies: The Story So Far
The Zombunification event has concluded — here’s what happened and what you can expect going forward.
F.U.D. gas has done its worst, and Buntopia will never be the same….
Zombunification has concluded, with 1,225 total Zombunnies emerging from the toxic fog to wreak their evil designs upon Buntopia. 2,052 hapless ChainBunnies were burned by their owners, strengthening the ranks of the undead army now terrifying the 4,000 remaining living bunnies in the warren.
Zombunnies bring a harrowing new twist to the ChainGuardians ecosystem. In the sections below, we’ll look at where things started, where they stand, and what the future may bring now that Zombunification has changed Buntopia forever.
The Zombunnies Story
ChainBunnies burst onto the scene a little over a year ago, bringing an element of good-natured mischief to the otherwise sometimes grim struggle for freedom in the Cryptoverse. Things were going along rather nicely until the trip felt ‘round Buntopia led Tangerine to set off a chain of events that would see a third of his burrow mates burned into grotesque corruptions of their former selves.
But they say you can’t keep a good bunny down, and the story of the battle for Buntopia has only just begun. The following sections detail a few of the new features Zombunnies have brought to the ChainGuardians ecosystem, as well as a glimpse into where things may be headed.
Zombunnies so far….
Additional features follow the successful completion of the Zombunification event, focused on adding value to the experience of holding these uniquely abominable NFTs:
- Rarity Rankings — As a project focusing on PFP culture, Zombunnies have been officially listed on Rarity Sniper!
The number of traits, the presence of rare traits, and the total circulating supply of Zombunnies determine a Zombunny’s rarity. Zombunnies may have as few as five traits and as many as eight traits, including background color, Zombunny color, and the inclusion of various items or weapons. Traits range in rarity from common, Killer GF, Silver, Gold, all the way to unique one-of-a-kind artworks.

- Cryptoverse Sub-DAO — The cgDAO places the power to affect the direction the ChainGuardians ecosystem takes going forward into the hands of the community. With the achievement of the 40% minting milestone, the creation of the ChainBunnies / Zombunnies sub-DAO may begin!
The ChainBunnies / Zombunnies sub-DAO will be created to govern the Epic Buntopian Cryptoverse estate. The sub-DAO will be established for both ChainBunnies and Zombunnies NFT holders to govern this estate, using their NFTs as voting power.

- ChainGunnies — Last but not least, let’s not forget ChainGunnies, the action-packed Survival FPS that provided the first glimpses of what a Zombunpocalypse might look like on the ground. Holding a Zombunny NFT grants users access to the game and upcoming opportunities to win fame and rewards by working up the leaderboards as tournaments come to ChainGunnies in the near future.

Zombunnies Outlook
In total, 1,225 Zombunnies were minted during the Zombunification event out of a total possible supply of 3,000. This achievement triggered the activation of the sub-DAO detailed above, which joins 3D ChainBunnies creation and ChainGunnies single-player and multiplayer game mode implementation as active roadmap items. Additional developments are planned according to the roadmap presented below, subject to mint totals achieved through reopening the Zombunnies mint by cgDAO vote.
ChainBunnies x Zombunnies Future Roadmap:
- 1,800 Zombunnies (60%) — ChainGunnies go mobile! At 1,800 Zombunnies mints or 60% of the Zombunnies supply, the development of a mobile application for ChainGunnies will commence.
- 2,400 Zombunnies (80%) — 3D Zombunnies! ChainBunnies that survive the Zombunnies contagion will be created into 3D models. At 2,400 Zombunnies mints or 80% of the Zombunnies supply, we will make 3D Zombunnies.
- 3,000 Zombunnies (100%) — New ChainGunnies game mode: play as a Zombunny! Specifics of this game mode have yet to be determined (and may be determined through community feedback). At 3,000 Zombunnies mints or 100% of the Zombunnies supply, development of this new game mode will begin.
A DAO proposal may be submitted to allow for the re-opening of Zombunnies minting either by sale or by ChainBunnies burning, pending the remaining supply. Note that all items on this roadmap may be implemented regardless of which stage in the minting process each milestone is accomplished (whether completed through initial minting or a DAO re-open of minting). Community input through the DAO will be vital in determining priories for development across the ecosystem.

Zombunnies are off to a raging start as a horrifying new element of the ChainBoost and broader ChainGuardians ecosystem.
