Chainfund Capital has announced its investment in the leading digital securities issuance platform, Securitize.

Securitize concluded its November Series A round raising $12.75 million from Chainfund, Coinbase Ventures, Ripple Xpring, Blockchain Capital, Spice VC, Global Brain for its end-to-end solution for security token compliance and issuance.

Since facilitating the first compliant security token transfer on a public blockchain, Securitize has revealed a host of intentions for its token issuance and coded compliance platform, including the aim to tokenize the $82-trillion global debt market as an inaugural member of IBM’s Blockchain Accelerator.

Chainfund Capital intends to accelerate the growth of next-generation financial technology through the support of key infrastructure projects, and has recognized the utility of the Securitize DS Protocol — with commitment to power digital securities from Spice VC, 22x, Augmate, Blockchain Capital, and more, and partnerships with a number of SEC-regulated marketplaces and exchanges including tZERO, AirSwap, Open Finance, and SharesPost.

Kingsley Advani, Co-Founder and Partner at San Francisco-based Chainfund, stated:

“Securitize are market leaders in the digital securities issuance space. We are excited to support them on their mission.”

Through Securitize’s broad network of industry-leading investors and partners, Chainfund expects that the DS Protocol will become the incumbent issuer of tokenized securities for the quadrillion-dollar debt, equity, real estate, and asset market.
