Switzerland, 7th March 2023 — Chainode Tech, a Web3 infrastructure and service provider registered and based in Zug — Switzerland, recently announced that it will join the Blockspace Race Testnet, Celestia’s incentivized testnet program — the largest ever testnet to support data availability sampling, with 700+ sampling light nodes.

The launch of the Blockspace Race Incentivized Testnet was announced by Celestia on February 28th. The incentivized Testnet follows a series of other Testnets that Chainode Tech and other Validators took part in. Blockspace Race attracted a staggering 20,000 applicants — with only 1,000 being selected for the incentivized Testnet which begins today — March 7th, 2023.

Celestia’s Incentivized Testnet will last approximately 9 weeks and it will be conducted through 5 different phases. During each phase, participants will be in charge of various tasks that will be instructed by the core team. In addition, a ranking of the participants, based on their performance, will be shared after the completion of the 5th and final Testnet phase.

As a validator with multiple years of experience, we at Chainode Tech are always on the lookout for new and innovative projects in the blockchain space. That’s why we are particularly excited about Celestia, one of the first projects to tackle modularity in the blockchain spectrum.

So, what exactly is a modular blockchain, and how does it differ from traditional PoS architectures? In a traditional PoS architecture, all the nodes in the network have the same functionality and contribute equally to the validation of transactions. However, in a modular blockchain architecture, the network is divided into separate modules, with each module having its own unique features and functionality.

Modularity in blockchain architecture offers a more flexible and scalable system that can address some of the scalability and interoperability issues faced by “traditional” blockchain systems. Celestia leverages modularity to enhance these topics, making it an ideal choice for developers looking to build decentralized applications.

At Chainode Tech, we believe that innovation is the key to the growth and success of the blockchain industry. In an ecosystem that is already saturated with certain topics, new approaches feel like a breath of fresh air — especially for tech enthusiasts like ourselves. We are excited to see how projects like Celestia will shape the future of blockchain technology and are committed to supporting innovative projects that push the boundaries of what is possible in the decentralized world.

We are excited to join Celestia’s Blockspace Race incentivized testnet and contribute to the development of modularity in blockchain. This is an important milestone for Chainode Tech as well, as we continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in the decentralized ecosystem. Participating in Celestia’s testnet, especially considering the staggering amount of applicants, is a testament to our team’s expertise and commitment to the continued growth and success of blockchain tech. We look forward to collaborating with the Celestia team and fellow participants to shape the future of Distributed Ledger Technologies.” said Ionut Scirlet, Founder & CEO of Chainode Tech.

About Celestia

Celestia is a modular consensus and data network that aims to bring modularity to the blockchain ecosystem. The project is built on top of the Cosmos SDK, which is a popular blockchain development framework that allows for the creation of highly customizable and interoperable blockchains. Celestia’s modular architecture allows developers to easily add new features or modify existing ones, making it highly adaptable to changing needs and use cases.
