The below guide will provide instructions on how one can import their XTZ from the fundraiser wallet into the Galleon wallet, and then proceed to transfer those XTZ to any exchange for trading.
Step 1 — Download the Galleon wallet
- Go to https://github.com/Cryptonomic/Deployments/wiki/Galleon:-Releases
- Download the latest Galleon version in line with your computer’s operating system: Windows, Mac or Linux (deb)
Step 2 — Creating the Galleon wallet
- Create New Wallet file
- Enter a secure password and ensure you don’t forget it
- Click “Create Wallet”
Step 3 — Perform Tezos Foundation’s KYC/AML Process (skip this step if you’ve already done it)
- Go to https://verification.tezos.com/
- Create an account using an email and password
- Provide specified personal identification documents as well as the public key hash from your Fundraiser PDF
- Upon completion, you will receive an activation code correspondent to the public key hash provided
Step 4 — Importing from Fundraiser wallet
- Refer to your fundraiser PDF which should contain the following items of information: 15 word secret key, public key hash and your email
- Retrieve your activation code given to you from the Tezos KYC/AML process
- Select the “Import Fundraiser wallet” screen from your Galleon wallet
- Fill in the above information provided from the fundraiser PDF, as well as the Tezos Foundation activation code notification
- Click “Import”
Once your account is created, you should be able to see your public key hash, as well as your current XTZ balance.
Step 5 — Send XTZ to Exchange of your choice
Paste the send-to address into the “send” tab of your Galleon wallet. Explanation for retrieving the deposit address is dependent on the exchange you are using.
