We will publicly release the source code of our multi-wallet app and engine on October 15th. We’ve made the decision to opensource Chameleon due to a variety of factors.

One of those factors was the lack of contracts that we’ve received during the past 6 months. This was mainly due to the arrival of COVID and contracts going into a standstill. In order to keep the wallet alive, we think that open-sourcing will allow other communities to take the Chameleon Engine and build something unique.

Since its launch, the App is used by thousands of people in multiple blockchain ecosystems. If you use Chameleon, please export your seed or private keys and import them into another wallet before the 15th of October. The app will be removed from app stores on that date. If the app is installed on your device, you will be able to use it until you uninstall it. However, we recommend moving your funds to a new wallet such as AtomicDEX.

Chameleon app’s source code will be made available on Gitlab.

Exporting Seed or Private keys

When you created your wallet, you were prompted to save your 12-word seed. You will be able to use this and import your funds into other wallets that are BIP39 compatible.

Another option is to export your private keys and import them into another wallet. Here are the instructions on how to export your private keys from the app: https://chainzilla.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/43000533132-how-to-export-your-privatekeys-from-chameleon-pay

You can also export your private keys from your 12-word seed using this tool: https://chainzilla.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/43000533133-how-to-export-your-privatekeys-with-the-bip39-tool

Which Wallet Should You Use?

There are several options available to you. Since you’re able to import your wallet via your seed or private keys, you can use wallets such as AtomicDEX, Trust Wallet, and Coinomi.

Warning:

Be cautious to use a trustworthy wallet and never expose your private keys or 12-word mnemonic seed to anyone. We will never ask you for your seed or private keys. That is the reason we closed the telegram channel, there are too many scammers posing as team members. If you need support, please write to us at hello@chainzilla.io and we will get back to you ASAP.
