Komodo’s DPoW protected a blockchain against a 51% attack:
Last year, 9 successful 51% attacks were registered for a total of +$22 Million in losses. 2019 has started and double spending attacks doesn’t seem to be stopping. On february 24, a twitter user called @Forkwitch noticed what looks like a try to double-spend: Over 100 orphan blocks after a set of reorganization on the Einstenium (EMC2) blockchain. Later this was confirmed by Komodo’s founder JL777.
Komodo Plaform’s Delayed-Proof-of-Work is a security protocol for Blockchains that can protect any blockchain from 51% attacks and prevent the risk of double-spending. It is possible as DPoW creates “checkpoints” of your chain on the bitcoin network and recycles it’s hashrate to protect your chain, no matter how small your hashrate is.
