Printing by day or week wasn’t quite cutting it for many Chalk.com teachers. We had a mountain of requests to be able to print lessons from an entire semester and to be able to print lesson plans by section. We listened and set a pretty unrealistic deadline for our product team to get this to you as soon as possible. They pulled through once again, but we may need to give them a few days off to catch up on all the lost sleep!

We’re incredibly excited to introduce the newest feature in Chalk.com — print lesson plans by section for any date range!

Try it now!

There are many people who care about what you’re teaching in the classroom. Administrators, parents, and other teachers want to make sure that you are covering everything. The way that these people receive this information varies greatly, and you need different options for presenting your lesson plans.

Planboard is an intuitive lesson plan editor that makes it easy to create lesson plans. You can add attachments, photos, and videos to bring your lessons to life. Lesson plan templates further cut your prep time and let you get back to what matters the most: your students.

But how do you get these lesson plans into the hands of the people who matter the most?

Now you can download lesson plans as a PDF by subject, giving you a chronological list of the content that you will cover in that class. With this feature you can:

  • Export lessons from a single section
  • Print over a custom date range

To print your lessons by section, head to the week view of Planboard. In the top right, click on the Print/PDF button.

By default it will print all sections, which is what you may be used to.

But now, you can select the section that you’d like to print. You can even change the date range that you’d like to print! It doesn’t matter whether you want to export a term’s worth of lessons, or a few weeks at once. You’re covered.

Once you’ve printed your lesson plans as a PDF, you can print them as hard copies, email them, or upload them to your classroom’s website.

You can also share lesson plans directly in Planboard! Collaborate lets you send individual lesson plans or groups of lessons to other teachers. They can comment on the lessons, import them into their Planboard, or download them as PDF documents.

This new printing feature came from requests directly from teachers. We’re always aiming to improve your experience, so if you’d like to see something else added or improved, email support@chalk.com

Chalk.com is the easiest way to organize your classroom and cut down your prep time. Used by over 150,000 teachers worldwide, and completely free for individual teachers, Chalk.com offers award-winning lesson planning and assessment tools.
