All Dreams Must End?

Alive in the pain of your beauty
like the swift flame that exists
living only for ignition — burning for you, solely.

dare, I, you to
rewind, remind —
eager moments between us
all the things we said when
morning was still so far away… meaningless all?
someday, maybe, you’ll understand when I said we.”

my words were yours, once,
under stars whose names were
signs of something more than this,
tales of us to be, now lost.

even now, in
nirvana’s darkened mirror, a
dream still follows this heartbeat.

This acrostic golden shovel is part of Keep Digging Deeper: a tributary web on Chalkboard. I worked from a line in this poem:

Destroyed. Rebuilt. Broken, Mended. Annihilated. Remade. Nothing special.
