Child inside, so pure and new,
A perfect alignment of stars,
They have brought me to you —
So close to my heart, yet so very far.

A perfect alignment of stars,
And then a magical moment,
So close to my heart, yet so very far,
That collided in joy and torment.

And then, a magical moment
(a miracle, they say)
That collided in joy and torment
Quickly swept me away

A miracle, they say,
A love like no other,
Quickly swept me away
In becoming your mother

A love like no other
(this I long for, the promise of love).
In becoming your mother,
Diamond galaxies bind us above.

This I long for, the promise of love,
Child inside, so pure and new,
Diamond galaxies bind us above —
They have brought me to you.

This poem is part of the Passing Pantoums project on Chalkboard. I borrowed a pair of lines from this pantoum:
