Deep Sea Cadenza
an acrostic narrative verse, after Charlie Sierra Bravo
Grunzark, a bestial face and name of worthy nightmares
lived under the sea; deep where no wisemen would go.
It traversed arcane streets in evernight journeys, a
seeking of camaraderie beyond fear and morrow.
Thousands invited to its ten palazzi
escaped in horror under its fervent calls;
notwithstanding its melodic pleas, a crippling crush
inarticulated. No arrows flown, no words of
nocent stature, no plankton comedy, just a drowning feeling no
gentle grief could name. But such a
red-crowned mermaid returned, she who only vacuum
enter her golden irides. Under her guiding hand, it uttered a
damning pledge; a dedication of all rights. Unbeknown —
guiled it was. Her heart she’s claimed for a prince denied.
On the eve, thus she behest Grunzark, a baton of tributes;
lush vocal for her princely proposal. Dark, she left in its place;
dark, the hollow echoes of the lost sea cadenza.

so a wish, foam and sea
