Dry Lightning

Mocking strobe,

Memories of running
Drench-skinned,
Arms outstretched,
Head uplifted,
Tongue welcoming
Heaven’s blessing

You tease my parched nature
With unfulfilled promise,
Relief from a hell
Tindered by careless play.

Your Turn
