Hunted
a tetractys trail by Tamyka Bell, Terijo, Violet James, Ashwini, Paul S Markle, ιove, Zev, and Kathy Jacobs
freeze
sweating
heart racing
wide eyes searching
did you hear something move in the shadows?
A trick of the light perhaps, a spirit
moving along
in darkness
shadows
still
Bow
My head
Recite a
Hallowed prayer
You are the dream awakened within me
Glowing eyes lurking behind the bushes
watching, sprints to
darkness, leaves
rustle,
calm
Moon,
light bends
reveals wrath
meant to collapse,
upon dreamers in curious pursuit.
Dreams! dreams! is this all in my head? but then
it feels so real!
Try to wake
up. Wake
up!
Wraith
Laughing
Exclaims loud
“My place you’ll fill
Your eyes shall trap dreamers, as I trapped you”
This tetractys trail was written by a group of Chalkboard poets, each writing one stanza in turn. If you’d like to participate in a similar project, we’ll have more trails starting in late April and possibly early May 2018. Read the instructions and sign up in the linked Google Form.
If a tetractys isn’t your style, check back soon, because we’re always running new projects.
