I wonder
about the color
of her morning
and if her
sun is up
when mine is

or if her face
is tilted
to drink the night
when mine is
if it swells
black and brackish
on her tongue
the way it does on mine
coats my throat
like tar

or is the night
made sweet
as blackberry wine
in the bright
light from her throat
open to the moon
starshine pours
down
like rain
in a silver cup
