Pantoum after Tamyka Bell

Photograph shot by me

Like a masterpiece
Once bright, now faded
Longing for release,
My heart is jaded

Once bright, now faded,
Can it shine again,
My heart is jaded
Can it, zest regain?

Can it shine again?
No night without end
Can it, zest regain?
Surely, doubt suspend!

No night without end
Cheer thy ailing soul!
Surely, doubt suspend
Repaint thy heart’s scroll!

Cheer thy ailing soul
Longing for release
Repaint thy heart’s scroll
Like a masterpiece!

This poem is a part of Passing Pantoums project. I borrowed a pair of lines from this pantoum:

Rivers and valleys/ And mountains with snow-clad peaks/ Made his soul their home
