Hi all!

This is going to be a fairly short letter, just long enough to update you on what’s new in Chalkboard.

First off: We have kicked off another project. This one is all about finding poems in other pieces. In a joint effort with A Writing Cooperative, we kicked off the Magnet Poetry project today.

What’s magnet poetry?

This kind of collaborative poetry gets its name from the word magnet sets you can find at the bookstore, etc. In this case, instead of getting your words from magnets, you are getting them from other people’s poems. As the kick off article says:

Magnet poetry is a form of found poetry where the words in existing poems are cut up and rearranged to form a new poem, sometimes with the opposite meaning of the original poem.

Interested? Let us sweeten the pot a bit more: This project has prizes AND featured pieces in store for you!

Looking forward to seeing your contributions to this month long collaboration contest!

Imagà update:

Imagà Round 3.0 will wrap up this weekend. The featured pieces for this last week will be added to the page Sunday/Monday. If you have a piece to submit, get it to us by Saturday evening California time (UTC +7). Be sure to check out the latest pieces and the latest additions to the gallery.

Finally…

Please join us in thanking Harper Thorpe for running the One Line poem project in April. Going forward, Harper and Kathy will be co-editors for the project. Harper, we adore you and are very glad to have you on the team!
