My soul did not know
Where to even begin
But the pain did flow
And filled a page with spin

Where to even begin
To tell my tale of woe
And fill the page with spin
And my agony show

To tell my tale of woe
To some friendly heart
And my agony show
And escape pain’s darts

To some friendly heart
Would I bare my soul?
And escape pain’s darts
Was there a control?

Would I bare my soul?
But the pain did flow
Was there a control?
My soul did not know

This poem is a part of the Passing Pantoums project on Chalkboard. I borrowed a pair of lines from this pantoum:

Rivers and valleys/ And mountains with snow-clad peaks/ Made his soul their home
