We smoke freely
as if the air is our possession.
Let me remind you
once and for all —
We’re tenants on earth
and need to keep air safe
and clean.

Author’s note:

Thank you Kim Smyth, Kathy Jacobs, Harper Thorpe, and the entire Chalkboard community for providing this week’s prompt.

Besides, I’d also like to raise awareness about the current public health emergency in Northern India due to deteriorating air quality. As such, we’re losing our right to breathe clean air.
We usually take air for granted. But ask me or watch me breathe with pain, and you’ll start appreciating the air again.
