Chalk Outline is accepting submissions from true crime writers with an emphasis on well-researched stories and campfire storytelling. Dim the lights, light some candles, and don’t forget to lock your doors.

Submission Guidelines

• Stories should be complete tales, from opening to resolution. No excerpts, please.
• Please include a subtitle
• Please include an image, credited, with no text on the image, right below the subtitle.
• Please include a short author bio at the end of your story, written in the third person.
• Submissions must be drafts previously unpublished on Medium.
• Medium metered stories only.
• True crime only.
