Looking for inspiration for your next walking challenge? We’ve put together some of the most popular, challenging and unique walking challenges to try.

Find one that works for you or let us know in the comments if there’s one we should add.

Munro challenge

The Scottish Munros are mountains over 914m, of which there are 282 in total. The most famous and tallest is Ben Nevis at 1,345m. If you are a beginner, take a look at the Visit Scotland website who have highlighted 11 of the ‘easier’ Munros to climb. Before you go, take a look at the Scottish Mountaineering website too for safety tips and skills.

Tick off every Munro you’ve climbed on the Challenge Accepted app here.

Monopoly boardwalk London

Based on the traditional London Monopoly board, walk to visit every stop on the board in real life. Take photos as you go of each sign, station or jail!

I have completed this one myself with my sister so it is possible in one day but you really need to start early and wear good shoes! We got ourselves treats from the corner shops for ‘Community chest’ and picked up scratch cards for ‘Chance’ but you can tailor this bit for you.

The full list of stops to tick off is on the Challenge Accepted app here.

National Trails

New to Challenge Accepted are the National Trail walks including Thames path, Pembrokeshire coast and more. These are broken up into shorter routes and link to the official National Trust website for tips, parking info and route advice.

Tick off each section of the famous National Trail walks you’ve done on Challenge Accepted.

Wainwright Fells (Lake District)

The Wainwrights are made up of 214 English peaks (known as Fells) around the Lake District National Park described in A.Wainwrights books ‘Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells’. All peaks but one are over 304.8m.

You can tick off each English Peak you’ve climbed on Challenge Accepted.

National Parks to visit

See the full list of National Parks to visit, we’ve recently added UK, US, Canada, Spain and more.

Don’t see one you are looking for? Submit your challenge ideas from the settings tab in the app or let us know in the comments.

Outdoor places to visit

With the more staycations this year we created lists of incredible sights and walks to go to in Somerset, Dorset and Devon. We’re working on more coming soon too — if you have any specific places for us to start with let us know in the comments.

See the 7 must-visit places in Somerset, Dorset and Devon on the Challenge Accepted app.

Important — Challenge Accepted helps you tick off all the walks you’ve done but we don’t provide the detailed route. Make sure you get the official walk route and local safety advice before starting your walk.

Let me know if you have any other ideas! — Steph
