Challenging Art: A Guidebook
1 min readApr 12, 2021

Nicha is currently a freshman at Stanford University getting her dual degree in Art Practice and International Relations with a focus Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources. Although she is yet to finish her degree she has done substantial work in environmental conservation particularly in the Global South. Being a dual citizen herself of countries from both the West and the East, she believes that it is important to bring the strengths of each culture together to build a better world.

Nicha’s art harnesses this aspect of herself as she seeks to redefine the field of “fine art” through innovation of Eastern and Western traditions and styles. Although she is well-versed in all 2D mediums, oil paint and graphite are her mediums of choice with her specialty being in realistic portraiture. She sees art as an emotive vessel that can and should be used to connect people particularly to global issues.

Art and the environment may be her passion, but ultimately her heart is her family. Her family is the driving force behind her ambition and be it through her art or environmental diplomacy, all she really hopes for is to make them proud!
