Your mate, your grandma, your dog — they all have podcasts. But which are our top mental health ones to listen to?

The statistics around podcasts are mind-blowing, we rounded up a few of them for you all to make this face 👉 😱 at:

  • 50% of all US homes are podcast fans
  • 16 million people in the US are “avid podcast fans”
  • 49% of podcast listening is done at home, down from 51% in 2017
  • Podcast listeners subscribe to an average of 6 shows
  • 80% listen to all or most of each episode, down from 86% in 2017
  • 19% of listeners increase the speed (listen faster)
  • 69% agreed that podcast ads made them aware of new products or services

Now that you’re sitting making this face 👉 😱, it’s time for us to list the top five mental health podcasts we’ve listened to. And no, we’ve not done that marketing thing where we snuck ours (cough Challenging Challenges cough), into the list. 🤷‍♀️

BTW, these are in no particular order, these are the five us and our pals love equally 💙 We did a survey, and by ‘a survey’ we mean we sent round a WhatsApp message.

Dreamer’s Disease 😴

We think our co-founder Yannick 🦸‍♂️ likes this podcast more than he likes our (just kidding, he loves ours!). But this was one of the podcasts that helped Yannick understand his power in the world and his mental health better.

In his words: “I found the bigger picture of someone speaking about the importance of mental health and wellbeing in general. So, I was inspired and started to talk and read more about the whole topic. It even made me want to start a startup with one of my best friends. It changed me in a positive way: I started to listen differently to people and also started to think differently and would focus more on myself and improving myself at the same time.”

My Good Bad Brain 🧠

Our friend Sabrina (hey girl hey 💁‍♀️) got us into this podcast. It’s one of her favourites, so we started listening and soon realised why. Jarrett’s energy, his comic timing and the topics he’s diving into (from FUCK BREAKUPS to eating disorders) are incredible. And now we’re talking to him about being on our podcast too, which is super cool.

Brainstorm 9000 ⚡️

They are such a dynamic duo, this is the podcast you listen to if you want to learn things and sound smart, who doesn’t?! You’ll be sure to find something for you, with topics from stress to sexual assault, they manage to address both the problem and the solution.

2 Girls, No Fucks 👯‍♀️ (it was really hard picking emojis for this one)

TBH, this is the podcast our co-founder Katy want to be when we grow up. They’re hilarious. But also make our brains think, which we like. Mental health has such a shitty stigma around it, but by adding comedy and being themselves, Ida and Anneli totally make it easier to want to talk about.

Legit conversation with our friends:

Us: Our podcast is hilarious.

Friends: Mmmmm. Is it though? 2 Girls, No Fucks on the other hand.

Us: 😐

My Dad Wrote a Porno 🍆

Yes we know it’s not a mental health podcast — but it’s cheered us up on our mean red days. Oh, Belinda… (Thank you Alice, Jamie, James and Rocky for giving us something to laugh on the shitty days! 💙)
