Berlin, January, 2023 — Champion of Champions Tour, in partnership with GamingMalta & Eden Esports, will bring top CS:GO teams to Malta for CCT Central Europe Studio Finals.

The Champion of Champions Tour is opening the Studio Finals season with a LAN event in Malta from 16–19 February. The tournament will crown the first champion of the Central Europe region as well as secure them a spot at the CCT Global Finals.

The two teams already qualified for the event are Copenhagen Flames and forZe. They qualified via the CCT Points system, collecting points throughout the first four online series of Central Europe. They are joined by ENCE, who are the first organisation invited to the event. The remaining five teams battling it out for the $100,000 USD prize pool will be announced at a later date. This will also be one of the first offline events to feature the new map Anubis in its map pool.

Malta-based esports agency Eden Esports, alongside production house GAM3RS_X, will operate the event which will be hosted at the five-star hotel “Intercontinental Malta”.

Fabian Logemann, Head of Tournaments at GRID Esports:

“A successful season in Central Europe is coming to a close with our first LAN event of 2023. Our partner, REPUBLEAGUE, has done an admirable job and we look forward to an exciting final in Malta. We are proud to partner with GamingMalta & Eden Esports for the organisation of this event and cannot wait to see who secures the first slot to CCT Global Finals 2024!”

The format of the event will split the teams into two GSL-style groups of four. The opening games will be in Best-of-One (BO1) format, while all other series will be Best-of-Three (BO3). The top two teams from each group will advance to a double-elimination bracket, while the bottom two will be eliminated.

The partnership between GRID, Eden Esports & GamingMalta, the home of gaming excellence, is further establishing Malta as an esports destination. With many other live events happening on the island, fans and tournament organisers are quickly recognizing Malta as a staple for esports competitions.
