The new season will feature significant differences in format, streamlining the experience for fans and players

[Berlin — April 8, 2024] Premier Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament series, The Champions of Champions Tour (CCT), has proudly announced details of its 2024/2025 season. Set to begin April 15th, 2024, CCT’s 2nd season will feature 36 regionally-focused online events in Europe, South America, North America and Oceania with a total prize pool exceeding $1,500,000 USD, leading into CCT Global Finals in 2025.

Among the significant differences from the 2022/2023 season, the competition will see a consolidation of Europe into a single region. Previously, the continent was split into divisions: North, South, East, West and Central Europe — this change will offer the region’s competitors a simplified, yet challenging, path to the Global Finals. North and South American circuits will also be condensed into Main and Playoffs stages.

The breakdown of regional events will be as follows:

  • Europe — 20 Online Series
  • South America — 8 Online Series
  • North America — 4 Online Series
  • Oceania — 4 Online Series

The new season’s tournament and broadcast operations for all regions barring Oceania will be executed exclusively by Malta-based tournament organizer EDEN Esports, creating a streamlined experience for viewers and participants, while the Oceanic part of the circuit will be handled by New Zealand-based LetsPlay.Live.

The CCT debuted as a CS:GO tournament series in 2022, commissioned by GRID, the Berlin-based in-game data platform and over the course of the inaugural 2022/2023 season, CCT has seen teams such as Virtus.Pro, Eternal Fire, BIG Clan and more qualifying through the circuit into the CCT Global Finals, taking place May 16th — 23rd, 2024.

Head of Tournament Operations at GRID, Fabian Logemann, commented on the announcement, “The CCT 2022/2023 season has been an incredible journey and we’re thrilled to announce the upcoming circuit, continuing to offer a sustainable platform for our partners, teams and talent. Counter-Strike is thriving and we can’t wait to enter the new CS2 era with the Champion of Champions Tour.”
