This isn’t the first time CCT commissioner, Berlin-based esports data platform GRID, has organized Dota 2 tournaments. GRID’s Esports Solutions division has managed operations on the HomeSweetHome CS and Dota 2 tournament series since 2020, as well as Pinnacle Cup from 2021–2023.

GRID has a long history of partnerships within the Dota 2 esports ecosystem, providing exclusive data rights & integrity partnerships with the likes of the Dota Pro Circuit, WePlay, Valve’s The International, Global Esports Games, IESF World Esports Championships to name a few

The CCT brand debuted in 2022 as a new Counter-Strike tournament series. During the first season, 452 teams participated — including the likes of Virtus.Pro, Eternal Fire, BIG Clan, Team Liquid and many others.

CCT Season 1 Global Finals concluded on May 23rd, 2024 with impressive viewership and positive community reception. CCT Season 2 began April 15th, 2024 boasting a USD 1,500,000 prize pool.

GRID Chief Procurement Officer Charlie Hanley-Nickolls commented on the announcement: “Dota has a special place in many hearts at GRID and that shows in our long history of Dota support through GRID’s data infrastructure and the Esports Solutions team. We’re excited to integrate this iconic title into our own premier tournament brand this summer.

“The CCT has established its role as an important part of Valve’s CS2 ecosystem and being able to expand the circuit means more opportunities for fans, players and talent!”
