After a day of pitching by Matt Conaghan and Kate Lait, and some tough deliberations by the judges, the team was invited to attend the awards ceremony held in City Hall, where Change Donations was awarded Silver in the Fintech Category!
The event was MC’d by former Ireland National rugby player and current host of the popular Innovation Show podcast, Aidan McCullen. He discussed the necessity for companies to reinvent themselves. While his experience and skills on the rugby pitch built a phenomenal foundation, they didn’t seamlessly translate to the pitch meeting. It took years of hard work. McCullen also posed the question, “Once you build your business, how do you ensure it lasts?” And as many of the startups in the room could attest, it takes a lot of determination, some calculated risks, and a little luck.
