Dreamforce is the largest Salesforce conference of the year where hundreds of thousands of Trailblazers and Salesforce enthusiasts come to enjoy the events, working sessions, volunteering, and keynotes.

We have attended Dreamforce multiple times, and each time wished we had something to keep us more comfortable or get more out of our days at Dreamforce. We have created a list of 10 things you should know before you pick up your badge at #DF19 so you can be prepared to get the most out of your Dreamforce experience.

Here are our tips!

Number 1: Volunteer
There are events every day at Dreamforce where you can volunteer any amount of your time to some fantastic causes. This is actually one of our favorite parts of Dreamforce. One year we participated in a packing project night-night bags for homeless children — a book, a blanket and a stuffed animal all snuggled into a little tote bag. Here’s a great place to start.

Number 2: Get Certified
Exams are offered at a discount (50%!) during Dreamforce. Our team loves picking up a new certification or two for half price. But — you have to sign up in the Session Builder.

Number 3: Attend the roadmap presentations
#SafeHarbor You’ll get a sneak-peak of what Salesforce is working on. Why? While most of the sessions are recorded for later viewing — roadmaps aren’t. Check out our post on 2019 Dreamforce Roadmap Sessions, here!

Number 4: Hit a Hands-On Workshop session
Instructor-led short training sessions. Bring your laptop, you’ll be doing step-by-step hands-on-learning.

Number 5: Food and water
Days are long, and finding something to eat amongst the Dreamforce craziness can be difficult. It is never a bad idea to pack a couple of snacks and a bottle of water.

Number 6: Pain relievers
On the off-chance that you are over-served while at one of the many networking events — you’ll be glad you packed pain relievers for the next morning.

Number 7: Phone charger
One of the worst feelings is being at a stellar Dreamforce breakout session or concert and wanting to take a photo, and your phone is dead. Bringing a phone charger and portable charger is an easy way to ensure you don’t miss out on documenting all of the fun.

Number 8: Comfortable Shoes
The years that our team has attended Dreamforce, we end up walking quite a bit. We highly recommended that you bring comfortable shoes that you can walk in all day.

Number 9: A small personal fan
No joke — lots of people = lots of body heat. Some of those rooms can get warm. Grab a small fan that plugs into your phone.

Number 10: Swag!
This isn’t really something you can bring, but more of something to be on the lookout for! Salesforce is notorious for having tons of free swag at Dreamforce, so be sure to keep your eye out for stickers, shirts, cocktails, and more.

Enjoy Dreamforce!
