Team 99math
99Math team is revolutionizing the math learning process through the fun of eSports competitions

We are happy to announce that we have led the pre-seed investment round in 99math. Led by an experienced EdTech serial entrepreneur Tõnis Kusmin and young hacker co-founder Timo Timmi, 99math raised €500,000 in financing for the expansion of their eSports-style competitions for 1–6 graders. 99math eLeague platform for instant competitions, leagues and tournament days are an exciting way to engage students and motivate math practice and learning. In just a few months over 30 thousand students from 20 countries have taken part in online tournaments competing against each other in AI-generated math games. 99math will use the proceeds of the fund to expand the platform’s reach in the United States, add new math topics, and develop features for teachers and parents to track students’ performance.

We have followed Tõnis’s work for years in his mission-driven quest to modernize how education is delivered. When Tõnis started 99math, we were very excited about the chance to join his quest to change how math is practiced and learned. The eSports approach is bold and ambitious way to make the engage students in the practice and learning of math, and of course other STEM subjects (Chemistry, Physics, Coding)

Change Ventures led this funding round and was joined by Martin Villig, co-founder of Estonian unicorn startup Bolt, and the Education Fund of the Good Deed Foundation (founded by Taavet Hinrikus, Sten Tamkivi, Ahti Heinla, Ragnar Sass and other Estonian entrepreneurs to invest into EdTech projects).
