Life contains a lot of thrill, beauty, joy, awe-inspiring moments, and great experiences if you’re open to and choose to see them. Life often includes beautiful, life-changing relationships with others (romantic, friendship, family, colleague, etc, as well as with non-human animals too). It contains adventure, excitement, heart-stilling surprises, and just so much that can fill us with wonder if we let it.

Life also includes challenges and difficulties. Within every human life, there is and will be pain (physical and/or emotional). There will be heartbreaking losses. Things that happen that we didn’t expect, curveballs that throw us for a loop, and not in a good way. Hardships we must endure and navigate, as well as physical and mental challenges we didn’t anticipate, which we must figure out how to move through, or some of which we may just need to learn to live with.

Life is beautiful and full of magic, and it also entails pain and difficulty.

So, what is one of the key determinants that help determine how well we navigate through these hardships?

Resilience.
