When I address the emotional challenges in my students and clients I never use the word “depression” anymore.

Instead, I have replaced it with a more accurate and less clinical - CUSD — for Chronic Unhappiness, Sadness, and Depression.

Looking at CUSD from a more Holistic approach, one can easily observe that certain exercises environmental factors, and foods and ingredients have been shown to reduce the symptoms of CUSD.

Someone recently asked me:

Why can’t I stop beong depressed?

Sometimes the more you try to resist depression, the tighter it grips you. Like struggling out of quicksand. There is no one reason.

Some things that can contribute to depression:

· Ruminating over the past and being stuck in negative thought spirals. Especially if you’re not doing much and are stuck in your head a lot

· Having a negative self-image and having an underlying false belief of being unworthy
