Embarking on a solo adventure is not just about discovering new places; it’s a journey that teaches us profound lessons about life and ourselves. I didn’t know this before I set off on my first adventure.

During the coronavirus pandemic, my friends and I planned a 4-week interrail trip around Europe. Unfortunately, due to the situation, we weren’t able to go. We tried to reschedule, but as we were all starting university and moving to different cities, it wasn’t looking realistic.

I was quite upset because I had become really excited to go on the trip and I didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity.

That’s when I decided, hey, if no one is free to go with me, I may as well go by myself!

I once again planned my trip, basing it off the same route that my friends and I had arranged months earlier. I would start in Germany, finish in Italy, and visit 6 countries in between. My route was as follows:

  • Berlin, Germany
  • Munich, Germany
  • Prague, Czechia
  • Bratislava, Slovakia
  • Budapest, Hungary
  • Vienna, Austria
  • Salzburg, Austria
