In 2018, I attended my first personal development seminar. At that time, I was close to burn-out because of my job. Health issues in my family and the lack of motivation were enormous problems. I felt lost.
I wanted to find out my real purpose. Thus, I tried to change my life. And I thought about attending a seminar by Marc A. Pletzer, an NLP-Master Trainer.
I was curious and, at the same time, a bit reluctant. Why?
Because I never attended any personal development seminar. I didn’t think I would need it.
So I never invested money into my personal growth, and how should I pay for something without knowing if it’d be worth it?
I reserved a spot but waited until the second demand note to pay the seminar fee.
With all the insights, life lessons, and hands-on techniques I learned there, I would now pay a much higher fee. Marc would say:
“Life is lived forward, and understood backwards.”
The coach, Marc, is an NLP Master Trainer, trained by Richard Bandler himself. You might know that Anthony Robbins took his foundations from the concept of NLP. He is now very successful with his approach to change the lives of others.
Additionally, Marc is a member of the Transformation and Leadership Council (TLC). In the TLC, other famous (spiritual) masterminds contribute all their work to create a better world. Some prominent masterminds are Jack Canfield, Chris Attwood, John Gray, Vishen Lakhiani, Chunyi Lin, and Sadhvi Saraswati.
I love his whole view of the world, the underlying beliefs, and techniques. Everyone can feel the love and a deep understanding he brings up for any of his participants.
It applies to all loving and caring coaches, healers, or spiritual beings. If you are open to change, you might find your guide.
The universe delivers when you ask.
“You are not broken or kaput!”
You have to remember how life was supposed to be lived.
It does not have to be hard or full of struggle. I found out something in this seminar that was striking: “You are okay even if you are not okay!”
I could make peace with my past and dream of a new life from then on — a life that I did not allow myself to even think about it.
And I stopped dreaming when I came into school, as this phase was not my favorite time in life, to put it nicely.
Leading teachers such as Esther and Jerry Hicks, or Bob Proctor often state that your thoughts create your life.
Whatever you can imagine, you can achieve. Everything or every situation in our lives was a thought in your head before it became a reality.
I started to dream again. And I still love it. I also started to paint down my dreams. And please keep in mind that I am one of the worst painters in the world. And this does not matter at all.
It is okay. You must think of all the situations, people, things in your life that you want to experience.
Let these thoughts be jovial as I know that my problems all had one thing in common: I was nearby.
By focusing on positive aspects, you attract these forms into your life with a lot more ease.
And I thought that it had to be hard work. I thought I was kaput, but I was wrong; I just forgot that I loved to daydream in my youth.
“The sole purpose of being on this planet is to enjoy yourself!”
This quote was an utterly new terrain for me. Should my purpose lie in enjoying myself?
How should this look like? I thought that I had to endure things to reach retirement age finally. And then live the life of a free terrestrial being.
But what stories could I tell my surroundings, especially my nephew and niece? That one day, when I am old, I will live a happy life?
It reminds me of the song: “One day / Reckoning Song” by Asaf Avidan & The Mojos: “Think of all the stories that we COULD have told”!
I had enough of the “could” in my life. I wanted to be happy now, and not in a not defined future. I want to enjoy the present so that I have stories to tell in the future.
And, there are many ways to feel happy and enjoy yourself. You have to find your unique path.
It sounds hard? I thought so too, but stay tuned; Marc also highlighted this topic.
And as you know from my other stories, I believe that there must be a reason for other people to be with you on the planet.
These people are there to give you feedback. They do so by either being an excellent example or by being a deterrent example. You have to look into your current surrounding.
And your purpose is not to rescue every soul — especially not the ones who do not want to be saved.
You should create the best version of yourself to be an example for the others.
Remember that you go first! Always!
“Develop yourself into a being that does not only have a brain but uses it!”
In my view, the most significant differentiation between “animals” and “humans” was that our brain is higher developed.
I was only partly right. Yes, our brain is complex and capable of achieving almost anything we can imagine.
But, we have not learned to use its full potential yet. I love to say to my coachees: “When you already have to think, why don’t you think positive?”
And it is again easy to develop this much-needed pattern. You find many outstanding personalities who use daily routines that include meditation sessions of at least 15 minutes.
You do not only calm your mind, not initially, but you become aware of an important fact. That your mind continually talks to you, especially in these meditation moments.
Didn’t you send out the wish to sit quietly, and only focus on your airflow through your nose and the movement of your belly simultaneously?
Who is this person speaking to me? Some call it ego; some call it the conscious mind. It does not make any difference.
Vital for you is to understand that you can develop yourself from an owner of a brain to a great user of this wonder.
In the book “Prometheus Rising” by Robert Anton Wilson, he came up with the following quote:
“Whatever the thinker thinks, the demonstrator will demonstrate.”
“What can you do now to be the most significant gift for your fellow human beings?”
This quote let me and the group inhale for a very long time. The point that we are all gifts for our surroundings was a bit too much for us.
To see me as a gift alone would have been quite a leap in my personal growth story. And now it was on me to find out how to be the most significant gift for all others?
It took some months to digest this information to put it blankly.
Marc did not make any exclusions on when to be the most significant gift. He states that you should always do something to be this gift.
I love those quotes.
You can go home with these and think about them for the rest of your life. Or act accordingly.
I would love to say that I am already in the acting phase, but until yesterday, I had some difficulties here ;).
Even so, I think that small steps every day will bring me to my goal.
The other focus in this quote lies in the “now.” It is by no means essential, what you COULD do, or what you do in YEARS, but it crucial what you can do now.
The intention should be on helping others by doing something now. And not by talking about things that one could do in the future.
“Do you believe in a loving universe?”
At one point, in the more advanced seminars by Marc, I asked him the most crucial question in my world:
“Why am I here?”
“And please do not make fun out of me. The answer should not be: because you paid for it!” I added.
He brilliantly chose his words as he always does:
“First of all. Energies meet each other. You are not alone with this question in this room. Besides, do you believe in a loving universe?”
I answered: “Yes. I do! But how do I find my purpose?”
He lovingly smiled at me: “Do YOU have to find it?”
I was shocked: “Oh, absolutely! I want to find it now! That is the reason I am here.”
The others were smiling as they heard the pronunciation by Marc.
I was under pressure by my question and not satisfied with the answer. I asked again: “How can I find it!”
He smiled again and answered with great compassion: “Could you believe that the universe has a plan for you? And that your purpose will find you? That you should pay close attention to the feedback you receive?”
I was speechless.
“Daniel. It is straightforward. Focus on the things that are already great in your life, and remember what you loved when you were a kid.”
“Oh, I loved philosophy, meeting friends, and discussing with them about anything.”, I answered. And he processed:
“And I am sure that this is one great attribute for your future. Just take a closer look at what you love, and go for it. You will succeed by moving step by step, with all your passion, and with a high level of perfectionism.”
He continued: “Focus on your goals, and the way to these goals will be presented to you. Don’t bond yourself to old, not suitable processes. Enjoy the new developments, and be flexible towards the process itself.”
“Enjoy the ride. Who knows… If you finally do what you love, you might enjoy yourself.”
He was right.
You always absorb the underlying beliefs and thoughts of a great author, coach, or trainer.
And it does not matter if you start to read books or accelerate this process by attending seminars. You will have great experiences and learn a lot more about yourself.
It follows the basic rules. There must be a reason why there are loving and caring coaches, healers, or spiritual leaders with great intentions on this planet.
I wish you great fun thinking about the quotes. And, more importantly, even more fun with acting accordingly.
